Liberia’s men’s under-20 squad will move to a training camp at the George Weah technical center in Careysburg on 10 August in preparations for the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone ‘A’) Nations Cup finals.

Head coach Tapha Manneh and technical staff have invited 27 players for the camp, which ends on 14 August and for a second phase from 22-26 August.

Liberia have been drawn against Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, and Senegal in Group ‘B’.

The finals will run from 28 August to 10 September in Nauachkott with the top teams from each group being paired in the semi-finals.

The winners will qualify for next year’s African under-20 finals in Egypt from 18 February to 12 March.

Egypt’s semi-finalists will qualify for the 2023 World Cup in Indonesia.

Players born on 1 January 2003 or later are eligible to participate in the competition.

The 2018 WAFU men’s under-20 Nations Cup finals were held in Liberia from 24 April to 5 May.

Gambia defeated Liberia 2-1 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe sports complex in Paynesville.
