The president of the LFA has termed as ‘’historic’’ the close of a three-day CAF Safe Stadium Initiative Workshop that witnessed over 40 participants being certificated as ambassadors to insure safety at local stadiums.

Mustapha Raji said the initiative was part of many promises made when he and his team opted for the leadership of the LFA six years ago.

‘’Today marks another historic moment for us. When we decided to take over the football association, we made a lot of promises and those who don’t believe in those promises, I believe are seeing the reality.

‘’We thought to concentrate and develop football at all levels and not just about concentrating on the players, coaches, referees, sports medics, and administration, but a key component in all that, security,’’ Raji said.

CAF Security experts Aboubakar Sene [Senegalese] and retired Captain Nick Owusu [Ghanaian] were lecturers at the three-day training which was characterized by both theory and practical demonstrations.

President Raji also encouraged certificated participants to explore beyond the sky what was learned so that they can represent Liberia out there.

Meanwhile, Raji was profoundly grateful to CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, whom he described as football’s ‘’vision bearer’’ following the decision of CAF to select Liberia as only the 6th country on the continent to benefit from such training.

In separate remarks, Deputy Minister Andy Quamie challenged fellow participants to apply the knowledge progressively, while LFA Deputy General Secretary Mohammed Sheriff called for the knowledge gained to be used as ‘’Bibles and Korans’’.
